Which of these theories make the most sense to you? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each theory? How might they hang together to form a coherent picture of a social phenomenon?

I already started the answers to the homework but got stuck on these two questions. Here is the full questions and the answers that I got so far.

Karl Marx, Robert Merton, and Emile Durkheim were all influential theorists in the field of sociology. Briefly summarize their essential contribution to the field of sociology.

Please discuss each of the three main sociological perspectives. Which of these theories make the most sense to you? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each theory? How might they hang together to form a coherent picture of a social phenomenon?

Karl Marx viewed relationships in systematic terms. He believed that economic, social, and political relationships had control over the power and dominance of the owners over the workers in the industrial societies. Robert Merton successfully combined theory and research. He brought together the Macrosociology and the Microsociology to the study of societies. Émile Durkheim contributed his views that behavior must be “verstehen” (understood) within a larger frame of reference, and not just in individualistic terms.
The three main sociological views are the Functionist perspective, Conflict perspective, and the Interactionist perspective.
