What volume of gaseous ammonia will be produced

1. Sulphur (IV) oxide reacts with oxygen to form sulphur (VI) oxide.

a) Explain why we can't assume that the pressure and the temperature of both gases will remain the same during the entire reaction.

b) Calculate the volume of oxygen required to react completely with 75 L of sulphur (IV) oxide.

c) Calculate the volume of sulphur (VI) oxide produced.

2. If 250 L of gaseous nitrogen are mixed with 300 L of gaseous hydrogen during a reaction to form gaseous ammonia,

a) Assuming the reaction is complete, which gas will remain after the reaction, and in which quantity?

b) What volume of gaseous ammonia will be produced?

3. Gaseous bromine is produced by the reaction indicated below. If the reactants and the products are in a gaseous state at the same temperature and pressure, what will be the volume of bromine produced during a reaction of 3.50 L of hydrogen bromide with 2.00 L of oxygen?

Hint: Find which reactant is in excess.
4HBr + O2 à 2Br2 + 2H2O
