Consider the following scenario:
Mr. Smith was admitted to the hospital for surgery on his left knee. When Mr. Smith woke up from the anesthesia, he realized that his right knee had been operated on. You have been asked to form a team to analyze this wrong-site surgery.
In light of this situation, write a 2 to 3 pages paper (excluding title and reference pages) in which you address the questions below.
o Who would you have on your team? Why did you select these individuals?
o What steps would you take to foster open communication? What team dynamics might exist that could interfere with open communication?
o Identify two quality improvement tool(s)/strategies you could use to address the wrong-site surgery? Explain why you selected these tool(s)/strategies.
