What should sam do

Problem

In a Form W-2 for some of the payments received from his employer, and a Form 1099-NEC for the remaining amount. The amount on the Form 1099-NEC was a bonus from Sam's employer. Sam has requested a corrected W-2 to reflect the additional amount reflected on Form 1099-NEC, but his employer has refused. What should Sam do?

1. File a Schedule C to reflect the amount reported on Form 1099-NEC.

2. Report the amount from Form 1099-NEC as wages on line 1, Form 1040 and attach Form 8919 for the uncollected Social Security and Medicare Taxes to his Form 1040.

3. Report the amount from Form 1099-NEC as "other income" on line 8, Form 1040, Schedule 1.

4. Only report the W-2 income and does not have to report the bonus on Form 1099-NEC.
