What parts of your personality align with profession

Problem:

Shebib (2019) suggested, it is the responsibility of the counsellor to foreground client beliefs, values, and assumptions and to actively be aware of their own tendencies towards culturally enclosing to avert stereotyping or imposition of their subjective lens on clients.

It is also important for the counsellor to "know thyself" and how their worldview is seen filtered through human development. For example, personality styles, dispositions and traits. When we consider personality, we often refer to the development of personality as the Big 5 Personality Factors which are Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, Neuroticism, Openness, Extroversion (John & Srivastava, 1999). Take some time and reflect on your own personality and traits.

Based on what you have examined so far in this course around counsellor preparation, what are parts of your personality and worldview that align with the profession? What are parts of your worldview that may pose a challenge to work with clients in the future?
