What might our criminal justice system look like

Problem

i. The author highlights that most proposals for reform in the criminal justice system fall under two "types": a systems-improvement orientation, and a crime-prevention/social-reform orientation. Give an example of a proposed reform (whether hypothetical or real) under each "type". Do you think your examples would be effective if put into place? Why/why not?

ii. What might our criminal justice system look like if we adopted a "care/response" orientation to crime rather than the "rights/justice" orientation we currently seem to use?

iii. Near the end of the article, Harris asks: "How should we deal with people who demonstrate that, at least for a time, they cannot live peacefully among us unrestrained?" How would you respond?
