Problem: In the nearly 80 years since the New Deal, some critics have argued that FDR's programs did little to end the Depression, and rather produced a much larger, more expensive, more interventionist governments. Others hail FDR's measures as having saved American capitalism and restored America's self-confidence. What is your assessment of the New Deal?
