What is the terminal velocity of the raindrops

1. Perfectly spherical raindrops with a diameter of 2 mm are falling through a deep layer of atmosphere. There are 1000 such raindrops evenly distributed in every m3 of air.

a. What is the terminal velocity of the raindrops in ms-1 to two-decimal accuracy?

b. How many raindrops would strike a square meter (m2) of the Earth's surface every second?

c. What is the volume of each droplet assuming each is a perfect sphere? Show your work.

d. What is the collective volume of all the droplets in a single m3?

e. Assuming the droplets are evenly distributed when they hit the ground, what depth of water (in mm) do they have on a 1 m2 area of the ground (watch your units!)? Show your work and note that Volume can be expressed as Depth multiplied by Area.

f. Since the preceding depth is "per second", what is the mm depth of water that will fall after an hour?
