• What is meant by quantitative and qualitative measures in the evaluation of a text for a lesson? Define and provide examples.
• One way to help students make connections and to deepen comprehension is to pair texts. This can be used to compare fiction to fiction, non-fiction to fiction, or non-fiction to non-fiction. Do you feel this supports literacy development in all content areas? Why or why not?

• How do you decide if the content of a text is appropriate for your students or not? What is the criteria? Again, how would you decide on the content and not readability?
