Critique the research and discuss the research's strengths, limitations, implications, applications, or your future research ideas (2-3 pages).
Answer 3 of the following 4 points with ideas NOT mentioned by the authors in the paper (or elaborated
on beyond what the authors discuss in the article). To receive full credit you need to be specific and fully explain your ideas, critiques, and comments. Do not mention something in passing without explaining your reasoning or detailing your thoughts! It's best to focus on one issue in depth in answering the question than to list a bunch of ideas without explaining them fully.
1) What is a strength of the research? Why do you consider this a strength? Tie your strength to ideas about research methods we have discussed in class (for example, internal validity, external validity, construct validity, experimental realism, mundane realism, confounds, etc.).
2) What is a limitation of the research? Why do you consider this a limitation - how would it have affected the results (i.e., how do you think the results would have been different without this limitation)? What could be done to correct the limitation?
3) What is your suggestion for a future research study? Describe a possible study you would like to conduct, how it adds to the current research, and your predicted results for this possible study.
4) What implications or applications can you see in the research for the real world? Could the study be used to recognize or solve a problem or help individuals, for example? How so? (Make sure to focus on the results from this research in particular in your answer.)
