What implicit bias refers to

Problem:

Paraphrase something from the original post. Then consider asking a question or sharing your personal experience.--Implicit bias refers to the subconscious associations and assumptions we make about people or groups without realizing it. As the video explained, these biases operate automatically, often contradicting our stated beliefs or values. That's what makes them so powerful they can shape behavior even when we consciously believe we're being fair and objective. I do think bias is partly a product of human nature. From an evolutionary standpoint, humans have always relied on categorization to make quick decisions about who was safe or who posed a threat. That survival mechanism doesn't go away in modern life; instead, it shows up in ways that can lead to stereotypes and unfair judgments. At the same time, bias is also shaped by environment and culture, meaning it's not just innate it's reinforced by what we see and experience daily. Both positive and negative stereotypes influence group relations. Negative stereotypes clearly harm others by reducing opportunities and fueling prejudice. But even positive stereotypes can backfire. For example, I sometimes assume that teachers are naturally patient and nurturing. While meant as a compliment, it could frustrate someone in that profession. Need Assignment Help?
