What impact does the device have on you as the audience

Problem

Literary analysis goes beyond the kind of thing you likely did in English classes in the past. It is a form of argumentation that looks at non-academic writing and tries to make deeper meaning of it.

While English 111 does not delve too deeply into the realm of literary analysis, this primer will help you with all forms of argumentative writing and critical analysis. Therefore, to practice the skills needed to analyze literary content, we will do something similar to our ethos, logos, and pathos rhetorical lesson.

Choose a non-academic piece of content-songs commercials, and videos or skits work nicely, but the choice is yours--and find a literary device, in the same vein as the "Literary Devices in Pop Culture" video from this week's module. Link or otherwise share the content, and then answer the following:

What device does your content use, and what message is it trying to either convey or deepen by using the device? How does this differ from a more straightforward telling of this message? What impact does this have on you as the audience? Why?
