What happens to the mass of ice in the ice or water bath

The isothermal compression of 1.00 mol of an ideal gas at a volume of 10.0 L and a temperature of 273 K. A pressure is applied to the ideal gas by a mass in the initial state, M1, and temperature of held constant by an ice/water bath. M1 is replaced by a new mass that is three times as heavy, 3M1, and the gas is compressed isothermally.

1. What happens to the mass of ice in the ice or water bath? Will the mass of ice [H2O(s)] increase or decrease? By how many grams will the mass change?
2. Determine the work for this same process done via an infinite number of steps.

3. Determine the change in the mass of ice for the infinite-step process.
