Brand guidelines, brand books, brand standards. These are synonymous terms in the industry used to describe a prescriptive set of guidelines used by agencies provided to agencies. They are designed to help ensure consistency of messaging, maintain control over information, and even for legal reasons. Some are very formulaic and detailed, others are more creative and open to interpretation. Either way, brand guidelines help copywriters to develop messages that are consistent with the brand.

You will be assigned a brand book to review prior. On Thursday you will be put into groups to share your ideas about your assigned brand book. To prepare for class, review the brand book and submit a short write up to the drop box answering the following questions:

1. What does the brand book communicate about the organization?

2. How well does the brand book reflect what you know of the organization?

3. In what ways does the brand book inspire or restrict creative ad development and design?

4. What are the main take-aways a copywriter can take from the brand book?

5- Format: Your name, organization's name, submit as a pdf.

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:

1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.

2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

3. Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
