Text Book: Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal By Eric Schlosser.

In the book Fast Food Nation, the author Eric Schlosser provides both the history of the fast food industry and an argument regarding the "dark side of the All-American meal." Although you have only read an excerpt of this book, I want you to think about Schlosser's writing in the part that you read.

Please choose ONE of the writing prompts below, and write a complete response of at least 300 words and include evidence (i.e., quote a sentence or two) from the reading. Please include the number that you are responding to or the entire question before your response. Also, return to the discussion board to read and respond to at least 2 of your classmates' posts.

1. What do you think about Schlosser's writing in the excerpt that you read? Does his assessment of the fast food industry see fair? If so, what aspects of his writing make him seem fair? If not, what aspects of his writing make him seem unfair? Please provide evidence from the excerpt that you read.

2. Some professors may have their students read the entire Fast Food Nation book. Based on what you have read, do you consider this book to be a good or bad choice for an EN 101 class? What makes it good or bad? Please provide evidence from the excerpt that you read.
