In this reflection homework, you will consider the design and value of different parent, family, and community involvement strategies. Guided by a set of questions, your response will reflect on your learning in the course and how it relates to involvement strategies.

I. Develop an introduction and conclusion for your paper.
II. Use these questions to guide your response:
1. How would you design a parenting education or family life education program based upon the guidelines discussed in this module?
2. How would children benefit from the use of the guidelines presented in this module? How would families benefit? How would early childhood teachers benefit?
3. Discuss the pros and cons of the following strategies for parent education: Meetings, newsletters, the Internet, and family resource rooms.
4. What concerns would you have about meeting with family members to discuss referring their child for special services? What are the benefits of such referrals?
5. What are the characteristics of a professional in early childhood education?
6. List and discuss benefits and potential conflicts in collaborative efforts.
