Interview someone, preferably in your own family, that is one or more generations older than yourself.
•What child rearing practices and values did they experience as a child? How did their practices and values differ from what you experienced as child? Were there expectations in getting married, was education a priority, and how do the family dynamics differ from today and the past? Were the gender roles different from today and the past? Finally, how do their experiences and your own differ from what is expected in today's society? What traditions were important in your family versus the older generation i.e. education, family life, life after high school?
•What were the communication styles in the family?
