Problem:
Social Problem: Online learning programs have become more prevalent in the Colorado Springs area. I have seen three online school programs with an emphasis on science, engineering, and mathematics. Their has been some controversy as to whether high school students in an online home school environment learn to socialize with others, and function latera in life without social anxiety. Will ohome schooled distance learning students value team work? Qualitative Research Problem: The scholarly community does not know how high school students in online distance learning programs perceive the value and effectiveness of collaborative group work compared to individual assignments. Qualitative Research Purpose: What specific challenges do high school students experience when collaborating in online group work (e.g., communication, scheduling, accountability, relationship-building)? Qualitative Research Question: What are the lived experiences of homeschooled students in an in-person co-op program regarding their social-emotional development, learning opportunities, and sense of belonging? Theory or Conceptual Framework: This is a basic qualitative, postpositivist approached research, we explore the experiences of predominantly home-schooled high schoolers when placed into a cooperative in-person work group. How do they perceive the social dynamic of teamwork, effects on academic performance, and effects on personal growth, considering that they have predominantly worked? Need Assignment Help?
