Thread: According to the authors of The Dyslexia Dilemma: A History of Ignorance, Complacency and Resistance in Colleges of Education (Hurford, Hurford, Head, Keiper, Nitcher, & Renner 2016), dyslexia is the most widely studied and most common learning difference. The authors contend that a plethora of research is available with regard to the nature of dyslexia and how students are evaluated and remediated. However, the authors also state that, "there is a history of ignorance, complacency and resistance in colleges of education with regard to disseminating this critical information to pre-service teachers" (Hurford, Hurford, Head, Keipler, Nitcher, & Renner, 2016, n.p.).
