The video (The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry) relates to the problems in the Southwest U.S. Using this video and the supplemental links (readings) please construct a five page essay summarizing the water shortage problem in the Southwest, what the future holds, and what we can do about it.
Full points will be awarded for essays that not only use these sources, but show efforts to find information elsewhere (i.e. you conducted research!). B-C papers will have only used these sources, but the discussion is sound and it is clear that you put substantial effort into writing the paper. D papers will show some evidence of going through this information, but the paper is short or vague or just shows a lack of effort overall.
REMEMBER: Grammar counts. I will deduct points for poor grammar and spelling. Make sure you proof read it before handing it in! And, make sure you cite all information (including the links provided) in a works cited/bibliography page at the end of your paper and within your paper. For example –
“For more than 100 years, AAG journals have published numerous papers on pediments and related processes (Twidale and Mueller 1988, Friend 2000, Von Engeln et al. 1940, Meyerhoff 1940, Ongley 1974, Tuan 1962, Rahn 1967, Tator 1952, Tator 1953, Ruhe 1964), but with little insight into the pace of change of these visually dramatic landscapes (Figure 1).”
