2kg of an ideal argon gas has been compressed irreversibly from an equilibrium state 1 (where P_1= 2bar and V_1= 3m^3) to an equilibrium state 2 where P_2 = 3 bar and V_2 = 1 m^3. 1/3 of the energy transferred during the process between the system and the environment was in form of heat and rest energy was transferred in form of work. Assumptions: the gas heat capacities C_v and C_p are the same as those of the calorically-perfect ideal argon gas.
