REQUIREMENTS
1.  Create and save a document named DesignPlan.pdf

2.  Use the document formatting outlined in the syllabus and create a heading called Design Plan

3.  Use the same business you have been working with for this project.

4. Create subheadings for the following topic areas followed by the appropriate text/content. Be very specific.

1.  Business Profile - What is the business and what is its identity?
2.  Goals - What are you going to accomplish with the poster?
3.  Content/Important Information - What content/information will you include on the poster

4.  Target Audience - Just saying "for people that like ice-cream" is not enough description. Be very descriptive and narrow down your audience to a specific one. This is something that the client will be able to define, but for the purposes of including it, you will determine it for this project. Remember this is not the audience for your business or service, it is the audience for this particular design. And by defining a target audience, you are not excluding other audiences, you are simply saying, this is the most likely audience.

5. Word/Visual/Symbolic Associations: What words and ideas do you want to represent with this poster? What icons, symbols or graphic reductions may serve this purpose best? Are they realistic or symbolic? Create a list of words and images first, then describe your best ideas.

6.  Design Concept - Create the following.

1. Color schemes: Include 2 possible color schemes. Create color swatches and insert these as images into your document. Explain how these colors relate to your business. Use the terminology from your readings on color.
2. Fonts: Include 3 examples of fonts you might use. Insert images of your fonts or use the actual fonts. Explain how these fonts relate to your business. Use the terminology from your readings on type.
3. Images: Using a stock image source (not Google), include at least 5 images that you think might use/alter/trace/copy for the poster. Insert these into your document. Explain how these images relate to your business. Use the terminology from your readings on images. Include the url for each.
4. Ideas: Using Google or similar, include 3 images of posters that you think have good design ideassimilar to what you want for your poster. Insert these images into your document and for each one, state what the poster has that you think works. Use the terminology from your readings on design elements and principles. Include the url for each.
7.  Sketch: One sketch of your design. I would prefer that you hand draw these (then scan/photograph to digital files) but, you may use software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (Word, Paint, whatever) to sketch these out. Make sure they are legible, designed, thoughtful and illustrate the ideas you described above. Do not worry about your ability to draw, just be specific and clear.
5.  Make sure your document has a nice layout and looks professional and "designed".
