Use snells law to determine the relative refractive index

A generator produces straight waves with a frequency of 6.0 Hz. The wavelength of the water wave in region A is 2.0 cm. The angle between the wavefronts and the straight boundary is 30.0o. In region B, the angle between the wavefront and boundary is 20.0o. The waves are moving from region A to region B.

  1. Use Snell's Law to determine the relative refractive index of refraction of the two regions.
  2. What is the velocity of the wave in the first medium?
  3. What is the velocity of the wave in the second medium?
  4. What is the wavelength of the wave in the second medium?
  5. The diagram above has been redrawn to show one of the incident wavefronts and its corresponding refracted wavefront. On the diagram below draw the refracted wave ray, and label the angle of refraction (  r ) using the normal and the refracted wave ray as a reference.
