In this topic you have learned that it is vitally important to keep up-to-date with changes in the tourism industry that may affect the organisation or industry sector in which we work. This involves researching newspapers, tourism associations, government reviews, magazines or the Internet.
To complete this activity you are required to select two (2) current articles relating to important issues which are relevant to the Australian tourism industry.
Discuss how these issues could affect (have an impact on) the Australian tourism industry. Your discussions must comprise a brief outline of the article, including the title, date and source. Ensure you discuss the relevant issues of the article and address how these issues can impact either positively or negatively on the Australian tourism industry. Approximately 500 words are required.
As a guide, you may consider the following issues of concern to research:

In order to keep up-to-date with current changes in the tourism industry it is necessary to regularly seek information from reliable sources.

1. Identify five (5) specific sources of information you would access to monitor global issues in the tourism industry. Explain why you would prefer to use these.
2. Describe how you might share this information with colleagues and customers, as well as incorporate it into your day-to-day work activities.
