An -air filled X-band rectangular waveguide with dimensions 2.286 cm x 1.016 cm is to be connected to and X-band waveguide of the same dimensions, but filled with lossless polystyrene (εr = 2.56, μr = 1). To avoid reflections, an X-band waveguide section λg/4 in length is inserted between the two. Assume dominant mode propagation and that the match is at 10 GHz.
a) Determine the required wave impedance of the λg/4 section
b) Determine the permittivity required in the λg/4 section
c) Determine the length of the λg/4 section
