This paper will discuss how the community views police performance, how the police view their own job performance, the need for informed consent and confidentiality during research, advantages of qualitative research, and the type of interview that is felt most appropriate for this research. This paper will also examine the partnership between police officers, how far they may be willing to go to protect fellow officers, why police officers may act unethical through corruption, and explain the police department's subculture that may lead to corruption.
