Submit an abstract, introductory paragraph, and research problem, on the topic of obesity in america

The abstract is a separate paragraph that stands on its own as a more general introduction to the topic. This appears on the first page in apa style, and, in journal articles, it appears as a smaller, indented paragraph under the title and before the introduction. The abstract ends with keywords listed at the bottom usually in italics.

An introduction should begin with a paragraph that includes some background information, placing the problem in the world at large and suggesting how it is related to current research already completed, thus making a connection to your literature review which comes later. Finish the first paragraph with your research problem, stating what you are investigating and what you expect to find. Continue on for several paragraphs, developing more fully the ideas you began in the introduction.

The research problem should propose a hypothesis that can be tested with the collection of new data. What is it that you are trying to argue/answer about your topic? You have established the history and context and now want to determine how all of this works together to explain your topic in the present and what your findings might mean in the future. This is first found in the opening paragraph and then later developed in the introduction and literature review.

Use either MLA or apa format (according to discipline requirements) and submit your abstract, introductory paragraph, and research problem as one document. Your submission must be a minimum of 600 words.
