Further, The TTCI is a subsidiary of the Association of the American Railroads (AAR) and provides intermodal research and test center information to both passenger and freight operations.
The focus of the TTCI is on programs that will enhance railroad safety, reliability, and productivity, while operating a 24/7 facility staffed with emergency response personnel prepared to respond to transportation accidents involving hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
The role of the TTCI is vital to the safe operation of the trains that utilize America's railroad systems and to ensure that if there were an accident that there are experienced professionals capable of responding.
This is evidently important as there are dozens of derailments every year that involve the spilling of HAZMAT in and around residential neighborhoods. These teams are solely trained for these occurrences and are an important step to preserving our public transit system. Your thoughts?
