Task & Scope: There are six questions that you are required to answer, in written form, as preparation for an upcoming job or promotion interview. In other words, do not write your answers as if you are sitting in front of a selection panel and talking. Write your answers as if you are preparing ahead of time for an interview and want to increase your chances of knowing what to say by spending time sorting out what you know and putting that knowledge into writing. Your writing will therefore be as formal as it was for the first assignment.

Note: Your case study assignment submitted at the end of week five focused on the first five course topics, so the questions for this assignment focus on the concepts covered in topics 6 to 11.

Note specially: Your assignment must use the reading materials studied in this course.Assignments which rely on references that have not been studied in this course cannot achieve even a Pass grade because such assignments fail to demonstrate what you have learnt from studying this course in leadership and management.

Also note: There is no opportunity to resubmit failed assignments

These are the questions that you are required to answer, in written form, as preparation for an upcoming job or promotion interview:

  1. As part of the recruitment process you participated in personality training. Based on the results of your personality test how will you capitalise on the strengths of your personality type and how will you overcome the potential challenges of your personality type in terms of leading and managing?
  2. This is a high risk, highly innovative company and this often means we must push through many obstacles and setbacks. How might you manage any negativity and remain resilient?
  3. As you know, we are a multinational enterprise and whilst the diversity of our employees is a huge advantage we sometimes experience cross-cultural communication breakdowns. How would you ensure that there is clear and open communication between your team members operating in different countries across multiple cultures?
  4. We believe that our performance could be significantly improved if we could enhance employee engagement. What would you do to improve the motivation of your team, and why would you take that approach?
  5. Communication is key around here if you want your ideas to be heard - so how would you influence someone in a more senior role to say 'yes' to your pitch?
  6. Innovation seems to be everyone's buzz word, including ours, but I think we could be doing better in this area. What do you think might be holding us back? And how would you improve creativity and innovation in your team?
