There are different ways to use power. A Legitimate Request is where a subordinate complies with a manager because the organization gives the manager authority. Instrumental Compliance is where a subordinate complies with a manager's request to get the rewards that the manager's control. Then Coercion power is threatening to fire, punish or reprimand subordinates if they do not do something. Discuss the other ways that manager's can use power in leadership.
