About the Forum for Peace

The Forum for Peace is based in Abu Dhabi under the leadership of its President, H.E Shaykh Abd'Allah Bin Bayyah. The Forum was established in April 2014 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The forum is a global initiative that calls to peace, tackling the conflagration which has far reaching consequences. Since 2014 over 1000 religious scholars, academics, ministers of governments, women, religious leaders, and youth have attended and participated at the forum. Under the guidance of Shaykh Abd'Allah Bin Bayyah the forum discusses various solutions from the matrix of Islam with demonstrable proofs to clarify and correct key concepts by presenting alternative narratives to reinforce the primary narrative.

Since its inception, the forum has held key events across the world with a focus on educating Imams and religious leaders, equipping and educating them at a religious level to counter extremist religious narratives. This methodology which is based on the Jurisprudence of peace and reality, examines concepts within Islam, rooting them in the tradition allowing a development of a framework that helps people face the challenges of modernity whilst staying committed to their faith.

The Forum strongly believe that we have to look for solutions in an intellectual, cultural and spiritual way to deal with ideological aberrations that are causing further war and destruction. At the heart of this is the importance of shared values where we aspire to live in a world together with different cultures and ethnicities through conviviality, mutual respect and religious harmony.

As Shaykh Abd'Allah Bin Bayyah highlighted in his opening speech at the inaugural Forum, ‘Our call is a call to life, a call to peace, a call to fraternity and affinity, a call to human dignity wherever men meet. We seek lovers of truth, that is, people of insight and discernment, so that we may together form an alliance of virtue'

In this part it is important that students to caremily and completely define the population, inclutliii6 description of the members to be included before collecting the sample and how the sample were selected.

Their discussion should also answer the questions: Does it, what they have produced, satisfy the objectives that the students had at the outset?
