Presentation Outline Assignment 1

The purpose of the outline is to help you prepare and organize your presentation to the class. You need to get the topic for your outline/presentation approved by the instructor. It should deal with some aspect of campus life at CSUB. Try to strike a balance between informing and entertaining the audience. The introduction should begin with an attention getter. This can consist of Stories/Examples, quotes, statistics or startling facts, presentation aids, or rhetorical questions (please review the Strategies for Success video). Continue by including a statement of purpose-why are you making this presentation? The body should contain all of the information you will be presenting, organized with main and secondary/tertiary points. Finish by briefly reviewing the body of the presentation and referring back the attention getter at the beginning. A sample generic outline is below.

I. Attention getter

II. Statement of purpose

Body

Conclusion

I. Review what you discussed and what you learned overall
