The general purpose of achieving some kind of reform

"Satire is a kind of writing that ridicules human vice or folly for the purpose of social reform. Each satirist writes to accomplish a specific purpose, in addition to the general purpose of achieving some kind of reform.
For this essay, you will discuss three purposes (general and specific) for satire and three methods used by satirists to achieve their purposes. For each method or technique listed, I'd like you to provide two examples of each technique. You should include at least one example from each satire you've read ("A Modest Proposal," "The Rape of the Lock," Candide, and Don Quixote). Please organize your response so that it is written in paragraph form.
For example, satirists use humor to achieve their (general) purpose of reforming social customs. Humor is used by Cervantes in Don Quixote when . . .(specific example of humor and an explanation of how this accomplishes the purpose of the satirist)."
