Students are required to prepare and present an A0 poster presentation. You are asked to read and assess a part of a technical standard relating to reaction and resistance to fire tests. Each group will be set a different document to assess and produce a poster presentation.
The content and emphasis of each poster should be considered carefully to meet the guidance for marking.
It is important to describe some content of documents, but at level 6 an evaluation is called for and in this context students should:
• Try to see how the tests can be used to create a safe building in either a prescribed or engineered solution and
• Demonstrate the historical development of the test.
Not only should knowledge be communicated, but understanding aided and opinion expressed as to the usefulness or limitations of the advice.
Remember that it is not your task to describe the whole document but to select the key bits that impact on your problem and ensure the audience understands those bits.
