The chloride remained in solution because it was soluble

An unknown metal, X, was converted to a chloride by reaction with hydrochloric acid. The formula of the chloride is XCl3.

The chloride remained in solution because it was soluble. Next, an excess amount of silver nitrate was added, a reaction occurred, and silver chloride was precipitated which was removed from the solution by filtration.

If 1.152 grams of the metal gave 18.35 grams of silver chloride, determine the metal.

1. Aluminum

2. Gallium

3. Indium

4. Tungsten

5. Thalium

6. Bismuth

7. Iron
