"Superior Performance of Blind Compared with Sighted Individuals on Bimanual Estimations of Object Size," published in Psychological Science in 2005, reports that researchers suspected the ability to correctly estimate the size of an object using your hands with your eyes closed is related to whether you are blind or sighted. Blind and sighted individuals (24 of each) were blindfolded, then asked to indicate with their hands the dominant dimension of various familiar objects, like a package of spaghetti or a block of cheese.
