Strategic Management and SWOT
Strategic planning, forecasting, decision making, and problem solving. An important concept covered this week, which impacts each of these concepts, is determining strategic direction through situational (SWOT) analysis. A SWOT analysis looks at the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Recall from your previous classes how to construct a SWOT analysis.
For this week's discussion, choose a company and perform a SWOT analysis. You may need to first research a company's profile in depth and list its environmental opportunities and threats and organizational strengths and weaknesses. Be specific. Give three examples for each category.
Then choose one category to analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations for in order to improve the company's strategic planning.
