One of the most important parts of the strategic planning process is that of collaboration, cooperation, and coordination. All three of these concepts play hand in hand with one another when it comes down to the basis of everything. Strategic planning for an organization includes formulating and implementing strategies and plans to address the issues of the people that they serve (Bryson, 2011). Collaboration is an intricate concept with multiple attributes (Gardner, 2005). Collaboration, by itself, has a lot of small parts within it. Some of these parts include the sharing of planning, making decisions, solving problems, setting goals, assuming responsibility, working together cooperatively, communicating, and coordinating openly (Gardner, 2005). This aspect is important to the strategic planning process because it involves the ability for all to share ideas and concerns for those involved (Bryson, 2011). Cooperation in the strategic planning process has insurmountable importance for every organization. Cooperation is driven by the main concepts of teamwork. The last piece of the puzzle is the concept of coordination. Coordination is the process that includes a variety of committed individuals who work together in order to achieve the same goals and objectives of the organization (Bryson, 2011). Having a strong sense of coordination within an organization is an important and vital part to the strategic planning process. Individuals working together and coordinating important aspects are necessary to be successful in all ventures. Stakeholders are an extremely important part to any type of organization (Bryson, 2011). Stakeholders are a true part of the backbone in any sense of the word. Stakeholders, are more times than not, recruited solely on the ideas of the organization. This is what sells the motive to become stakeholders in certain organization. By appealing to their values, motives, and goals will not only gain you stakeholders, but also gain one a strong unified meaning for the organization as a whole. Stakeholders become a part of something based on the ideas, mission, and goals so by aligning with these individuals down to the core will only make for an even more meaningful and strong sense of the whole organization.
