“John Kotter (1996), developed the eight (8) step model of organisational change, designed to assist transform organizations and then anchor new behaviours, practices, and systems in culture”.

Recognize and illustrate each of steps of Change Management Model, underlining the roles and responsibilities of change agents throughout each step.

Nadler and Tushman (1995) have stated two (2) types of changes: Incremental change and Discontinuous change. Discuss and illustrate the characteristics of each of these kinds of changes. Illustrate using instances.

The Change Problem can be treated as minor problems having to do with how, what, and why of change.

Using a tangible instance from your own experience, describe the « how », the « what » and the « why » of a change problem in your organisation

Question 4:
It is believed that: « Effective management of people dimension of change requires the five (5) key phases which form the basis of ADKAR model ».

Illustrate out carefully each of the phases of model.

Question 5:

The successful execution of change rests on supervisor’s ability to master all the steps involved in change process. Illustrate out each of the steps, using concrete instances.

(i) The major sources of resistance to change.

(ii) The major focuses of resistance to change.

(b) Illustrate what managers can do to overcome resistance to change.
