Following the instructions below, prepare an annotated bibliography of 10 sources (fulfilling the requirements for each of the four required categories below) that are relevant to a question of current interest to criminal justice professionals. Present bibliographic information in APA documentation style. For each source, include an annotation that is at least 10 lines but no more than 15 lines long that includes the information specified in the instructions. Arrange sources in alphabetical order as you would if they were entries on the Reference page. Write a 10 to 15 line description of the source that includes the following three components:
1) a summary of the main ideas of the source (make sure to include the specific thesis and main supporting arguments),
2) an evaluation of the source (i.e., its strengths and weaknesses),
3) information you would need to determine how the source might be useful to your research (i.e., a statement of relevance to your own paper).

Jones, W. B. (2006). Targeting blacks in shoplifting surveillance: Unjust and inaccurate. Social Issues, 26(2), 37-45. doi: 104347890 Jones argues that while racial profiling of shoplifters by major department stores is an unjust practice, the process also fails to target those most likely to shoplift. No data exist that support the probability that Blacks are more likely to shoplift than other racial groups. In fact, in a recent study utilizing CCTV within a large chain department store, Jones found that 78% of all shoplifters were white.
Additionally, targeting Blacks in surveillance procedures only increases the opportunity to catch those Blacks who shoplift and improves the chances of success for whites who shoplift. This study is relevant to my research because it provides a research-based rationale to support my thesis, which is that racial profiling is an ineffective crime prevention technique. The author makes a strong argument by presenting statistics from multiple studies, and the article is clearly written.
