Should different approaches and frameworks be established

Problem

Qualitative data can be collected from various sources, for example, interviews, documents, field notes, observations, audio recording, films, and video recording. One of the strengths of qualitative research is the processes, the integration of the research question, data, and analysis (Richards & Morse, 2013). When it is a good qualitative research then it is consistent, the research question aligns with the method, which then fits properly with the data collection, handling and analysis techniques. One of the challenges that one can face is selecting the appropriate method, especially when one is new to such research (Richard & Morse, 2013). Noble and Smith states that "qualitative research is frequently criticised for lacking scientific rigour with poor justification of the methods adopted, lack of transparency in the analytical procedures and the findings being merely a collection of personal opinions subject to researcher bias" (p. 34). For a researcher that is novice in such approach it becomes challenging as there is no accepted consensus about the standard of the research.

Should different approaches and frameworks be established to demonstrate rigour appropriateness in qualitative research?
