Select a well-known company/product in the aviation community to examine a current trend or problem. All research papers must contain substantive academic content with a strong analytical focus. Your research paper must:
• Address a question or topic that relates to some aspect of the industry, organization, profession, practices, populations served, techniques used;
• Incorporate outside readings/sources related to the topic;
• Reference at least six scholarly books or articles that are peer reviewed or published in a recognized scholarly source, like a journal or a university publisher that establish a framework for your approach and/or support arguments made;
- Reputable web sites may also be used, in addition to the six required scholarly books
- Wikipedia is not a scholarly source
• Incorporate data and/or observations relevant to the paper topic;
• Take an analytical approach; avoid merely summarizing opinions unsupported by data or research.
Questions to be answered in your research (not exhaustive):
• What is the background/context of this topic?
• What contributed to the current state of affairs?
• What is the present political/social/cultural climate of topic?
• What is the core of the issue today?
• Why is this issue relevant to the industry?
• What are the effects/impacts of this issue from the smallest to the most far reaching?
All papers will be submitted to SafeAssign, a plagiarism detection service, to check for originality so be sure to appropriately cite all sources used in your paper. Papers that are not original work for this class are plagiarized or do not have a reference page will be assigned a grade of zero. Papers must be APA formatted. Minimum 2500 word count (does not include title page, reference page, illustration, graphics, etc.)
