K-12 Option: Select one state from the NEA's "Rankings & Estimates" publication, and compare it to the U.S Average in the following categories:
• Public School Revenue per Student in Fall Enrollment, 2012-13
• Percentage of Revenue for Public K-12 Schools from Local Governments, 2012-13
• Percentage of Revenue for Public K-12 Schools from State Governments, 2012-13
What conclusions can you draw from this information?
Higher Education Option: Select one state, and create a "State Profile Report" for 2011 from the NCHEMS Information Center website . Using the tabs labeled "How is Your State Doing?", compare your state to the U.S. Average in the following categories:
• State and Local Support per Full-Time Student
• Net Tuition and Fees per Full-Time Student
• Total Educational Revenues per Full-Time Student

Federal, State, and Local Resources
For SLP 3, select the same state that you selected for Case 3. Research the other measures available in the resources ("Rankings & Estimates" for the K-12 Option and the NCHEMS Information Center website for the Higher Education Option). Write a 3- to 5-page paper that compares and contrasts your state's measures compared to the rest of the country, as highlighted in the two publications.
