Your report should include the following:

- Draw shear and moment diagrams from the maximum load.

- Plot a graph of load versus deflection from your data.

- Derive the theoretical deflection equation for this type of loading.

- Use the recorded deflections to find their corresponding theoretical loads and use this to plot (on the same graph as before) theoretical load versus deflection.

- Use the test load data to calculate fiber stress.

- Plot the fiber stresses verses the collected strain data and calculate the modulus of elasticity.

- Compare the calculated modulus of elasticity with theoretical values.

- Discuss possible sources of error for your bending test measurements and the expected magnitudes. Discuss any differences between the theoretical and measured values of deflection and load. Discuss why deflections of beams are considered an important design parameter in buildings and bridges. Discuss how you would explain to a person who does not have an engineering background why a beam that has a large deflection is not necessarily unsafe.

- Discuss where, approximately, the maximum load from our test falls on the stress-strain diagram of steel. Discuss why the stress and strain are important parameters for the design of beams.
