Reinforcement recently occurred at my workplace

Problem:

Positive punishment: An example of positive reinforcement recently occurred at my workplace. Due to a busier-than-normal week at work, I did not complete all my clinical documentation before the end of the month. I received an email from the clinical supervisor, requesting that I complete all documentation within 48 hours. Failure to do so could result in a written warning, I was told. The potential for corrective action positively contributed to my organizational and time-management skills moving forward. The conversation was exactly what I needed to restructure how I spend my time. In our text, Miltenberger (2024) describes positive punishment as "an aversive stimulus or event is presented, and the probability of the behavior decreases in the future" (p. 84). When the aversive stimulus or corrective action was presented, the probability of my late documentation decreased. Negative punishment: One memorable form of negative punishment occurred when I was a child. Each week, I was assigned a list of simple household chores. I, however, did not always find them to be simple. On the weeks that I did not complete the list, I was not allowed to get together with the neighborhood kids and play video games for two days. Miltenberger (2024) describes negative punishment as "a type of punishment in which the occurrence of a behavior is followed by the removal of a reinforcing stimulus" (p. 84). The punishment of not being able to use video games was intended to correct my behavior. Need Assignment Help?
