Putting Good Writing into Practice

Think back over the last 48 hours of your life and focus on one incident or event that happened to you or in which you were involved. It does not have to be a major event (such as a car accident). Something that may at first have seemed minor might work just as well (say, you got an oil change). In 75 to 150 words, describe this incident or event. Who was there? What happened? What objects or places were involved? Describe the most important aspects in such a way that readers can visualize it.

In your responses to other students' posts, comment on what each student wrote. Can you visualize the event? Are there enough details? Too many?
