Provide example of what you have done to improve situation

Problem

Overview:

Being a mentor teacher is a big responsibility, but the rewards can be great. As a mentor, you can provide your mentee with helpful feedback and guide them toward the best and most effective teaching methods. Mentoring sessions can be a time for the mentee to ask their mentor any career-related questions. The mentee might ask about the mentor's experience working with children and families, ECE journey and path, probe them for advice, and so on. These sessions provide an opportunity for the mentor and mentee to work together to understand challenges and issues the mentee may be facing and develop strategies for overcoming them.

Instructions:

A. Pose a question or scenario you are currently facing in your ECE classroom/program as if you were the mentee.

B. For example, you may find it challenging to engage your parents and families, guide challenging behaviors in your classroom or find creative ways to celebrate diversity throughout your program.

C. Explain the situation, what you believe the problem, and provide an example of what you have done to improve the situation.

D. If you are not currently working in the field of ECE, consider sharing an issue you may find challenging as a new teacher.
