Assignment:
The Comparison/Contrast assignment will combine both course emphases of global awareness and career focus.
For the comparison assignment, you are to find two examples of well known personalitiesor professionals from your field of study or career choice. These must be real people, not fictional characters or literary personae. These two people should come from two different countries. Compare and contrast these two individuals as they influenced your major. For example, if i was in a computer based career, I could compare and contrast two different people who had significant impact on computing. The characteristics you choose should be directly related to the individuals' field of study and/or nationality. For example, I could compare and contrast 1) Blaise Pascal, French inventor of a mechanical computing device in the 17th century, and 2) Steve Wozniak, associate of Steve Jobs on the Apple computer systems.
All of the physical characteristics of the essay are the same as those given in the syllabus and used for the narrative essay. In addition, you will likely use source material for this essay. All borrowed material must be cited properly using MLA format both in-text and on a works cited page.
