Project communication is extremely important

Write an essay that fully answers to the following questions:

(1) Project communication is extremely important to the success of a project. What types of project communication should Janet implement to discuss the status, technical issues, and responsibilities on the project? In particular, discuss any potential communication conflicts between Clark, Downs and Pokorski. Identify the effect these conflicts may have on the project, and (most importantly), how they might be resolved.

(2) Evaluating and identifying project risks are equally important to the success of a project. Develop at least three risks that could potentially cause the scope, cost, or schedule of the project to slip. How can Janet plan for and avoid these risks? Does the likelihood of these risks affect Janet's actions? How?

Your essay answers should be a one- to two-page report, using your own words to fully address the above questions. Remember, the report must be to a level of clarity and depth that would be readily understood by the executive management; in other words do not repeat the questions, and use headings to denote the topics. Do support your analysis with both in-text citation and references from the textbook, PMBOK, or other juried sources. Include a cover sheet and a reference page. Use APA Style format, spacing double, one inch margins, Times New Roman, 12 point font size.

Project Artifacts:
Create three project artifacts for the Huntsville Project and place in the Appendix section of your report.

A project charter using the template presented in the Week 3 lecture, also available in Doc Sharing. Use information from this case to create the charter.

A project scope statement using the template presented in the Week 3 lecture, also available in Doc Sharing. Use information from this case to create the scope statement.

A two-level WBS that depcits your version of the project tasks list required based on the case study. Develop the WBS with this in mind: If you were the project manager, what tasks do you think need to be completed for this project? You can use the Huntsville Project Tasks as an example and some of the tasks may apply, however you must develop your own task list (not copy and past the Huntsville tasks) for your WBS. You will want to make sure you follow the indenting and number conventions required for a WBS.

Do not confuse the scope section in the project charter template with the scope statement template; remember to fully complete all sections of the project charter and the scope statement.

Schedule:
Build a project schedule for the Huntsville Project by entering the information from the following task list with duration and predecessors (Task List with Duration and Predecessors). Develop a preliminary schedule in the form of a Gantt chart. Make sure to follow the instructions mentioned below to setup the schedule. Once you have set up the project schedule answer the following question (you can input your answer at the end of your Word document used to answer your essay questions).

Will the Huntsville Plant Project be ready by the end of 2009, as Janet requires? If not, will it meet the June 30, 2010 deadline set by the board of directors? What options might be open to ensure these deadlines are met, if the current schedule indicates the Huntsville plant project will not be ready in time?

I am looking for a one- to two-page essay report, using your own words, to fully address the above questions. Remember, the report must be to a level of clarity and depth that would be readily understood by the executive management; in other words do not repeat the questions, avoid a simple "Yes" or "No" answer. Do support your analysis with both in-text citation and references from the textbook, PMBOK, or other juried sources. Include a cover sheet and a reference page. Use APA Style format, spacing double, one inch margins, Times New Roman, 12 point font size.
