Problem:
The purpose of this interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) study is to explore how Jamaican left-behind spouses make sense of migration-related marital separation, particularly how this experience is interpreted in relation to shared decision making and perceived autonomy, and how it is reflected in coping experiences, psychological well-being, and marital functioning. This qualitative IPA study uses semi-structured interviews supplemented by brief reflective diaries to examine participants' accounts of prolonged migration-related marital separation. This approach is well-suited to exploring lived experiences and meaning-making processes (Eatough & Smith, 2017; Smith et al., 2021).
The study focuses on a small, purposive sample of spouses whose partners work overseas and who have experienced at least 12 months of marital separation. Need Assignment Help?
